Cancer Society of Maldives has announced plans to host the pink ribbon run 2019 on 26th October at Hulhumale’.
Under the theme ‘Run-Walk for a Cause”, the organization invites citizens of all ages to take part in the event. While no pre-registration is required, runners can grab their #pinkribbonrun19 t-shirt from Lecute (Majeedhee Magu) from 14th October onwards.
The organization has said that proceeds from T-shirt sales would be utilized to conduct cancer screening and awareness programs.
Cancer Society of Maldives (CSM) is a national community based (non-profit/non-governmental) organization formed for the purpose of reducing the incidence and impact of cancer in the Maldives.
The organization aims to contribute towards the well being of the community by creating awareness about cancer, providing support and circulating information and resources so as to enhance the experience of people fighting against cancer.
It is one of their top priorities to conduct cancer research and to create a cancer patient registered database in the Maldives.
Most recently, they have conducted a screening and awareness program at K. Maafushi, K. Guraidhoo and Laamu Atoll.
