Carlson Rezidor to open Radisson Blu Resort Maldives in 2019

One of the world’s largest hotel companies with properties in 115 countries and territories, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has once again announced plans to enter the Maldivian market with a Radisson Blu resort which is set to open in 2019.

In a statement issued by Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, the company stated that an agreement has been signed with the developer of the island resort, Chang Gua Holdings to manage Radisson Blu Resort Maldives. The first resort of Radisson Blue will be a much-anticipated resort property in the island country as this will be the fourth attempt of the hotel chain to launch their brand in the Maldives. Previously, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group tried to open Radisson Hotel Maldives in the city of Hulhumale’, develop Radisson Plaza Resort on the island of Naagoshi and acquired The Regent Maldives to redevelop. After their unsuccessful efforts, the is now run as COMO Maalifushi Maldives by COMO Hotels and Resorts Group.

The resort which is set to open in the first quarter of 2019, will feature 128 elite villas including family villas and a premium overwater villa. Design of the resort is set to be contemporary infused with true Maldivian resort experience.

Radisson Blu Resort Maldives will be situated in Alifu Dhaalu Atoll, 105 kilometres from Male International Airport. The hotel will be accessible with a 30-minute seaplane journey or by a domestic flight from the Maamigili Airport, followed by a 15-minute speedboat ride to the resort.

Set amongst the breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean and amazing underwater life of Maldives, the resort will also boast a world-class sea sports and dive centre to provide the guests with thrilling adventures. For the relaxation and calmness seekers, spa and yoga pavilion included in the resort will provide the best for mental and physical wellbeing.
