The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, His Excellency Abdulla Shahid, will host the State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Wang Yi, in the Maldives in January 2022.
The State Councilor is visiting the Maldives on an invitation extended by Foreign Minister Shahid during the latter’s visit to China in November 2021.
During his visit to the Maldives, the State Councilor will pay a courtesy call on His Excellency Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, President of the Republic of Maldives, and will lead the Chinese Delegation during the Official Talks between the two sides.
The visit is due to take place on 7 January 2022, and will commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and China.
