Crossroads Maldives along with ‘Save the Beach’ Maldives and Parley Maldives have successfully hosted and held a clean up in Villingili, Male’ – Maldives. The event was held on 16th February 2019.
The jumbo bags used in the clean up were gifted by Parley Maldives and 15-20 bags of trash were collected which were then given to Parley Maldives to be recycled and used in products such as Adidas Sneakers. A total of 33 staff of Hard Rock Hotel worked with 4 members of ‘Save the Beach’ Maldives in carrying out this clean up event.
“The declared goal of Singha Estate and Crossroads Maldives is to create lasting value for all stakeholders – from local residents and visitors to operators and their partners in the supply chain,” said Martin van de Reijden, VP of Operations at Crossroads Maldives and General Manager of SAii Lagoon Maldives. “Crossroads Maldives being closer to Male’ city, we felt that it was important we did something for each island of the Male’ city and connect with the local volunteer groups and establish working relationships with them before we embarked on organizing activities on islands further away.”
