The Maldives Customs Service (MCS) has announced that vessel declaration forms, fireworks import permits and flare import permits must be submitted through the national single window platform, Tradian, from 11 June onwards.
In a notice published on its website, MCS stated that vessel declaration forms were initially scheduled to be submitted through Tradian from 10 May. However, the transition period was later extended until 10 June to allow stakeholders additional time to adapt to the system.
From 11 June, Customs will only accept vessel declaration forms submitted through the Tradian platform.
MCS also announced through its social media channels that applications for fireworks import permits and flare import permits will be processed exclusively through Tradian from the same date.
The move forms part of ongoing efforts to digitise trade and customs procedures and expand the use of the national single window platform for regulatory approvals and documentation.
Tradian is designed to streamline trade-related processes by enabling businesses and government agencies to submit, process and approve documents through a single digital platform.
Customs has advised importers, shipping agents and other stakeholders to ensure they are registered and prepared to use the system before the transition deadline.
