Minister of Defence, Mariya Didi has welcomed the 100-meter Gold medal winner of SA Games 2019, MNDF Sergeant Hassan Saaid at Velana International Airport.
The Defence Minister was accompanied by MNDF Chief of Defence Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal along with senior officials from MNDF.
Maldivian athlete Hassan Saaid had bagged the gold medal in the men’s 100-metres event at the South Asian Games (SAG) 2019 in Nepal.
He completed the event in 10.49 seconds, narrowly beating Sri Lankan athlete Himasha Eshan who crossed the finish line in 10.50 seconds. Eshan secured the gold medal in the men’s 100-metres event at the previous SAG.
