Dhiraagu, in collaboration with Clean Maldives, recently hosted ‘GoGreen2024’, a tree-planting event in Hulhumale Phase 2 in commemoration of World Environment Day.
Various organisations and community members participated in planting 1000 trees, including Magoo (Sea Lettuce), Kuredhi (Ironwood), Dhigga (Sea Hibiscus), Hirundhu (portia tree), and coconut trees. Dhiraagu, as part of its partnership with Clean Maldives, contributed 255 plants to the cause.
The event’s inauguration was graced by the Minister of Climate Change, Environment and Energy, Thoriq Ibrahim, who emphasised the significance of such initiatives in combating climate change and preserving the Maldives’ natural beauty.
Several stakeholders and community members actively participated in the event, including officials and volunteers from Dhiraagu, Clean Maldives, Housing Development Corporation (HDC), Hard Rock Hotel Maldives, and EyeCare Maldives.
According to Dhiraagu, the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs focus on environmental sustainability. Dhiraagu aims to support initiatives like GoGreen2024 that contribute to a healthier planet by fostering resilient ecosystems, mitigating climate change, and promoting community spirit and sustainability.
