Qatar Airways will increase flights between Doha and Malé from 12 to 21 weekly services from 25 October 2026, providing the Maldives with three daily connections through Hamad International Airport.
The addition of nine weekly flights represents a 75 percent increase in frequency on the route. It will provide travellers with greater flexibility while expanding connections between the Maldives and markets across Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East.
The increase forms part of Qatar Airways’ 2026-2027 winter schedule, under which the airline plans to serve more than 170 destinations. Nearly 1,800 weekly flights are expected to operate across its global network during December 2026.
Other changes in the Asia Pacific region include additional services to Phuket, Ho Chi Minh City, Kuala Lumpur, and Melbourne, alongside the resumption of daily flights to Canberra via Melbourne.
Qatar Airways is also expanding its deployment of Starlink internet across its network. The airline expects up to 340 Starlink-enabled flights to operate daily, with more than 150 widebody aircraft equipped with the service.
The increased Malé frequency is expected to expand travel options for visitors reaching the Maldives through Doha, particularly from long-haul markets served across Qatar Airways’ international network.
