Dhiraagu Celebrates Maldivian Athletes’ Historic Win at IOIG 2023

Dhiraagu has celebrated Maldivian athletes’ historic win at the Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG) 2023.

At a special ceremony held at Dhiraagu Head Office, the company welcomed the medallists, members from the Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC), and representatives from the respective sporting associations.

The Maldives won 28 medals in this year’s IOIG – 5 Gold, 9 Silver and 14 Bronze – in six sports: Table Tennis, Badminton, Basketball 3×3, Athletics, Para Athletics and Taekwondo. At the ceremony, Dhiraagu awarded special prizes to all 48 athletes who received medals in IOIG 2023.

Speaking at the event, the President of Maldives Olympic Committee, Mohamed Abdul Sattar thanked Dhiraagu for the company’s efforts in promoting and developing sports in the country. He further highlighted the relentless effort and work put in by the athletes to accomplish this achievement and expressed his determination to do even better in the future.

Dhiraagu CEO & Managing Director, Ismail Rasheed congratulated the athletes for their outstanding achievements at IOIG 2023. He highlighted Dhiraagu’s digital and development partnership with the majority of the national sporting associations and the importance placed by the company on supporting the development of Maldivian sports and athletes.
