Dhiraagu has officially launched its EAFC Mini Series 1 esports event. The three-day tournament was inaugurated at Dhiraagu Head Office by Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation, Abdulla Rafiu, and Dhiraagu CEO & Managing Director, Ismail Rasheed.
The event will feature two primary tournaments: EAFC 24 Mini Series 1 and the Tekken Open, both of which were open for pre-registration. Additionally, EAFC Duos and Mortal Kombat challenges will offer walk-in participation with exciting prizes. Over 500 players are expected to participate in the event, competing for a total prize pool of MVR 40,000.
Addressing attendees at the launch ceremony, Minister Abdulla Rafiu recognized Dhiraagu’s role in supporting sports development in the Maldives, emphasizing the company’s potential to elevate esports within the country. He expressed confidence that tournaments like this will nurture local talent and promote esports as a professional discipline.
