Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR) 2026 will bring more than 5,600 local and international runners to a World Athletics Ranking Competition, adding an international competitive dimension to this year’s event.
Scheduled for Friday, 20 November, at Hulhumalé Central Park, the race will take place on a World Athletics-certified course measured in cooperation with the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).
The programme includes Half Marathon, 10K and 5K Open categories, alongside newly introduced team categories. The range of distances caters to experienced athletes and participants preparing for their first race, while the team categories expand the options available to runners.
With preparations continuing ahead of race day, Dhiraagu has encouraged participants to prioritise consistent training and appropriate preparation for their chosen distance.
The event’s coaching partners, The Wellness Club, Island Runners Maldives and Marathon Runners Maldives, are providing guidance to help participants build endurance, improve their running techniques and develop confidence ahead of the event.
Alongside its competitive categories, DMRR promotes wider participation in physical activity, encouraging people of different fitness levels to work towards completing a race. Dhiraagu is sharing further race information and updates through the event’s website and its social media channels.
