Dhiraagu hosted a special networking event at their head office in celebration of International Women’s Day 2024. The event welcomed Dhiraagu staff and notable female figures from various industries.
Dhiraagu used the “Lean In Circle” networking format, which the company has implemented as a staff mentoring program in line with its Gender Action Plan. The event facilitated connections, experience sharing, and professional insights for staff and invited guests. Dhiraagu staff from outside the capital region also participated virtually.
During the event, Dhiraagu CEO & Managing Director, Ismail Rasheed, and Director Legal & Company Secretary, Uza. Hazrath Rasheed Hussain, provided progress updates on the company’s Gender Action Plan targets. As part of this commitment, Dhiraagu recently rolled out its Flex Work Policy and Returnship Guidelines. Women now comprise 46% of junior management roles within the company. Dhiraagu also reports an increase of women working in technical roles.
The event concluded with brunch provided by female-owned businesses belonging to the Women Entrepreneurs Association of Maldives. Supporting women-led enterprises is a significant element of Dhiraagu’s CSR strategy. This is evidenced by the company’s partnership with the Business Center Corporation (BCC) to support the Hiyala Weekend Market. This market offers female entrepreneurs a platform to promote and sell products.
Dhiraagu actively promotes a workplace culture free from gender discrimination and fosters a welcoming environment where all employees have growth opportunities.
