Dhiraagu has received special recognition for the company’s significant contributions to the
development and growth of the Maldivian tourism industry by the Government of the Maldives and the Maldivian Association of Tourism Industry (MATI).
At the Tourism Golden Year Gala Evening held at Kurumba Maldives on 3October 2022 to celebrate 50 Years of Tourism in the Maldives, Dhiraagu received the President’s Tourism Gold Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Development of Tourism in the Maldives, awarded by the President of Maldives, His Excellency Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. Dhiraagu also received the ‘50 Years of Tourism’ appreciation award by MATI at a special ceremony held to commemorate the Maldives tourism industry’s Golden Jubilee.
These awards recognised the role of Dhiraagu in the growth and innovation of the Maldivian tourism industry, brought about by the company’s development of the Maldives’ telecommunication sector. Dhiraagu has stated that the company is extremely honoured to receive the President’s Tourism Gold Award and MATI’s ‘50 Years of Tourism’ appreciation award. The company also thanked the government and the tourism industry for the special recognition.
