Dhiraagu has renewed its commitment to provide high-speed internet through the company’s CSR programme to all the Amaan Veshi (Alternative Care Homes) and Amaan Hiyaa (Temporary Shelters) across the nation in order to support children under state care. Amaan Veshi and Amaan Hiya under the Family and Children’s Service Centres (FCSCs) in the atolls, provide homes to children in state care and shelters for victims of domestic violence and abuse.
Under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, Dhiraagu will be providing high-speed Fibre Broadband services to all Amaan Veshi and Amaan Hiya under the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services at B. Eydhafushi, Sh. Funadhoo, HA. Dhidhoo, Dh. Kudahuvadhoo, L. Fonadhoo, N. Manadhoo, Lh. Naifaru, Fuvahmulah City, Kulhudhuffushi City and Addu City.
With the commencement of the new academic year, Dhiraagu’s aim is to assist all 10 FCSCs nationwide to promote digital literacy and address the educational needs of children under state care.
Under the company’s CSR focus on supporting children under state care, Dhiraagu has continuously been supporting state care facilities for children over the past several years, including Kuda Kudhinge Hiyaa in Villimale’ and Fiyavathi in Hulhumale’. This includes internet provision, the donation of computer systems and the setup of computer labs and a library in Kuda Kudhinge Hiyaa.
Supporting children and young people is a key focus area under Dhiraagu’s CSR programme. The company also provides programme-based support throughout the year and works closely with NGOs working to empower young people.
