Mohamed Junaid, Chief Operating Officer of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), has stated that Dhoogas Hotel in Gan will be awarded to MPL very soon.
Speaking at TVM’s morning talk show, Raaje Miadhu, Junaid went on to say that he expects to begin operations within 2 months of being awarded the Hotel, and that opening Dhoogas would create hundreds of job opportunities for residents of Addu Atoll. Junaid elaborated that MPL aims to operate a 200-bed guesthouse at Dhoogas and that the designs for the Guesthouse have already been completed.
Dhoogas was originally opened and operated as a Government-owned Guesthouse during former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s tenure.
