Dhiraagu notes that this year’s event introduces a major competitive milestone, having gained official recognition as a World Athletics Ranking Competition. The race will run on a World Athletics-certified course measured in cooperation with the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). The accreditation allows eligible athletes to use their finishing times towards official World Athletics rankings and pursue internationally recognised race results.

The company details that the 2026 schedule features a Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K Open, alongside newly added team categories. The event accommodates both elite athletes and first-time runners, aiming to promote healthier lifestyles and active living across the region.

Alongside its athletic focus, Dhiraagu highlights that the DMRR 2026 maintains its core charitable objective centred on child protection, a primary focus of the company’s social responsibility initiative. The platform provides non-governmental organisations (NGOs) with an opportunity to raise funds and advocate for children’s rights.
