The first charter seaplane flight since the initiation of seaplane operations at Gan International Airport has landed in Huvadhu Atoll.
During a recent meeting with prominent businessmen, Minister of Economic Development Mohamed Saeed confirmed that the maiden charter seaplane flight from Gan International Airport was carrying tourists to an undisclosed resort in Huvadhu Atoll. According to the statement by Minister Saeed, the decision to initiate charter seaplane operations in Addu Atoll was taken despite reservations that it may lead to great losses.
Gan International Airport currently offers regular flights from Maldivian, Trans Maldivian Airways and SriLankan Airlines.
