Minister of Tourism Mr. Moosa Zameer has announced that agreements will soon be signed for the development of 5 new airports.
Speaking at a ceremony held at Hotel Jen, Minister Zameer reiterated that the establishment of domestic airports are an important milestone under President Yameen’s tenure, and that agreements to develop 5 airports have been signed recently with 5 more to be signed in the close future. The location for development of the 5 unsigned airports are yet to be disclosed.
Earlier this year, the Ministry of Tourism announced domestic airports will be developed at Sh Funadhoo, Hdh Kulhudhuffushi, Gdh Maaruvalu, Gdh Faresmaathoda and F Nilandhoo by Malaysian company Gryphon Energy Corporation for a sum of USD 57.7 million.
