Minister of National Planning and Infrastructure Mohamed Aslam has stated on Monday that there are no plans to hand over the operations of Maldivian airports to any foreign companies.
Speaking during Monday’s Parliament session, Planning Minister Aslam stated that some Maldivians has shown concern over foreign involvement in Maldivian airports, indicating this as a cause for not handing over operations to foreign companies.
He highly emphasized on the decision and stated that the current policy may modify the situation of the country.
Planning Minister, Aslam also further confirmed that Maafaru International Airport in Noonu Atoll will be operated by Island Aviation Services Ltd (IAS).
