Government Announces Resumption of 32 Stalled Projects

Addressing former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s concerns about halted projects, Minister of Construction and Infrastructure Dr. Abdulla Muththalib clarified via social media platform X that 32 previously stalled projects have been successfully resumed.

Minister Muththalib highlighted that numerous projects initiated under the previous administration faced delays upon the transition to the new government. Among them are 64 projects assigned to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) and Road Development Corporation (RDC).

Furthermore, Minister Muththalib stated that 32 projects have successfully resumed. He noted that there are 83 more projects contracted to the two state-owned companies that are yet to commence, despite contract signings. The minister also highlighted the lack of initiation from Fenaka Corporation Limited, Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC), and certain private companies in starting their projects. He emphasised the commitment of the new administration to promptly restart all stalled projects.
