The total income of the government during the first two months of 2019 sum up to a total of MVR 4.1 billion.
As per the weekly report of the Ministry of Finance, the government has collected an income of MVR 4.1 billion, which is 17.9% of the expected income of 23.3 billion for the year 2019. Most of the governmental income was from tax, which includes MVR 1.3 billion as GST and MVR 1 billion as BPT.
Looking into the expenses during the first two months of 2019, MVR 652.7 million was spent on the developmental projects while MVR 2.7 billion was spent on governmental expenses such as wages and pension funds on governmental employees.
The total governmental expenses sum up to a total of MVR 4.1 during the first two months of 2019 while the income was MVR 4.1 billion, which is MVR 778.4 million more than the amount spent.
