MTCC has been allocated USD 20 million to improve Bileffahi Airport and safeguard the surrounding coastal area, with completion expected within a year.

Furthermore, MTCC is mandated to produce a comprehensive report covering survey outcomes, design details, and the potential environmental impact of Milandhoo Airport’s development. This aspect of the project, costing USD 38,000, is scheduled for completion within four months.

Since President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s inauguration, development has commenced on five new airports across different islands within four months. The government aims to establish a total of 15 new airports nationwide.
