GullivAir to Launch Direct Malé-Sofia Flights in November

A new direct air connection between the Maldives and Bulgaria will open in November, giving travellers non-stop access between Malé and Sofia throughout the European winter season.

Bulgarian airline GullivAir will begin scheduled flights on the route on 6 November 2026. The seasonal service will operate until 26 March 2027 using an Airbus A330-200 wide-body aircraft.

Flights from Malé to Sofia will depart every Friday at 4:30 pm and arrive at 11:30 pm. Return services will leave Sofia every Saturday at 7:45 pm and arrive in Malé at 7:15 am. All times are local.

The route will provide travellers from the Maldives with direct access to Bulgaria, including Sofia and the country’s winter, cultural and spa destinations. It will also offer Bulgarian passengers a direct connection to the Maldives during the peak winter travel period.

Passengers will receive two hot meals and beverages during the long-haul flight. Other onboard services and baggage allowances will vary according to the fare selected when booking.

GullivAir operates passenger services from Sofia to international destinations and is expanding its scheduled network through new leisure and business connections.
