The Maldives’ largest interactive fountain has been opened in the Central Park of Hulhumale’ on Friday.
The interactive water fountain was developed by the Housing Development Corporation (HDC). It was officially inaugurated by Fisheries Minister Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan, and HDC’s Managing Director Suhail Ahmed at a special opening ceremony held on Friday night.
Speaking at the event, Suhail Ahmed stated that HDC would be further developing the recreation zone and mosque area of the park, and further expanding the urban farming area. He added that HDC would work to best utilize the open, green spaces to benefit the community.
The interactive fountain was developed over an area of 20,000 square meters by the Turkish company ALKAR Insaat. The fountains are programmed with sound and light features, and the water rises to a maximum of 15 meters.
