Health Minister Abdulla Ameen had signed on behalf of the government at the signing ceremony held at the ministry building on Wednesday. The Ministry of Health has tasked companies with the development of three regional hospitals.
Under the contract, the companies have been tasked with installing air conditioners in the wards of three regional hospitals, upgrading Gan Regional Hospital’s powerhouse system as well as designing, drawing and preparing Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for the development of a new wing in Gan Regional Hospital.
Pro AC and Engineering is tasked with the installment of air conditioners in Gan Regional Hospital while Airin Enterprises is tasked with the same project at Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital. Anddhs Refcool is tasked with installing air conditioners in Raa Ungoofaaru Regional Hospital wards.
Further, Riyan Private Limited has been tasked with designing and preparing the BOQs for the new wing at Gan Regional Hospital while Airin Enterprises was contracted to upgrade the hospital’s powerhouse system.
According to the Ministry, installment of air conditioning in Gan hospital is set to be complete within 180 days and the BOQs for the new wing is to be completed within 40 days.
In addition to this, the powerhouse upgrading project is set to be completed within 67 days.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister Ameen stated that the ministry is working to take the country’s health sector to a whole new height and that impending changes and projects will show a massive difference to healthcare facilities and broaden the sector.
