The newly appointed High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Thasmeen Ali, presented his Letter of Credence to the President of the Republic of Singapore, Her Excellency Madam Halimah Yacob at the official ceremony held yesterday morning at the Office of the President of the Republic of Singapore – Istana.
Following the ceremony, Madam President Halimah Yacob and High Commissioner Thasmeen exchanged greetings and good wishes, while acknowledging the close cordial relations that exist between the two countries.
High Commissioner Thasmeen conveyed greetings and good wishes from His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of the Republic of Maldives to Madam President Halimah Yacob and the friendly people of Singapore.
High Commissioner Thasmeen thanked Madam President Halimah Yacob for accepting his credential and reassured his commitment and support to further enhance and elevate the existing long-standing friendly ties between the two countries to new heights during his tenure.
High Commissioner Thasmeen was accompanied at the ceremony by his spouse Madam Visam Ali and, Ms. Aishath Jumana, Second Secretary at the High Commission of Maldives in Singapore.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih appointed His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Thasmeen Ali as the High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to the Republic of Singapore on 25th August 2022.
