India grants financial support to Fiyavathi in Hulhumale’

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives joined Minister of External Affairs of India at the foundation stone laying ceremony of New Chancery Plot allocated to the Indian Embassy in Maldives in Hulhumale' Diplomatic Enclave.

The Government of India has granted MVR 1,998,206 to the Government of Maldives to refurbish Fiyavathi in Hulhumalé.

The project is aimed at catering to the growing needs of foster care children aged between 0 – 13 years, including upgrading the security system, strengthening the functionality of the building, setting up two common rooms, and replacing the existing furniture among others.

The grant assistance has been provided through India’s aid scheme to the Maldives agreed during the visit of the Minister of External Affairs of India in March 2019. The aim of the grant assistance is to conduct socio-economic development projects across the country.
