The option of online payment for passports will soon be introduced as per the Immigration Controller, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Hussein. He added that this option is being made available as application for passports can also be sent via e-mail.
In the ceremony held for the introduction of business visa in Gan International Airport, Addu, Mr. Mohamed mentioned that they are now working on establishing the process of online payment. The procedure can be carried out through a link sent via email through which the payment can be completed. The establishing process of this option will be completed and the option will be made available in around two to three weeks, according to Mr. Mohamed.
With the inauguration of this alternative, customers would not need to go and buy the stamp. The cost of the stamp will be included in the payment can be paid online. However, customers are still required to go and collect the passport for security and biometric reasons.
