Japan grants aid worth MVR 41 million for the health sector of Maldives

Japan grants aid for the health sector of the Maldives. The aid was of machinery and ambulances worth MVR 41 million.

The machinery was handed over by the Japanese Ambassador Keiko Yanai in a ceremony held in STELCO on 27th of August to the Health Minister Abdulla Ameen.

Speaking in the ceremony Keiko Yanai has said that the Maldives has achieved high levels in the health sector. And the machinery gifted is for use in Male’ and other islands.

Japan has donated 24 ambulances and many other types of machinery for the islands.

She also highlighted that Health Minister Abdulla Ameen has set higher goals for improving the health sector, and she hopes that the given aid will be useful to achieve the goals.

A speech was given by the Chief Guest Minister Ameen in the ceremony. In his speech, he noted that the ambulances which are being used in the Male’ area are of Japan aid. In his speech, he thanked Japan for helping the Maldives health sector to grow.
