As part of the series of roadshows planned by Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) the “ Journey to the Sunny Side “ has commenced in Switzerland.
The roadshow is being held at four prominent cities in Switzerland, including Basel, Zurich and Geneva from 19-21 August 2019. Maldives Roadshow in Switzerland is the fifth event of this series as part of the marketing promotional activities conducted by MMPRC.
The three-city roadshow targets the Swiss audience to maximize the Maldives brand exposure. This event will serve as a platform for Maldives tourism industry partners to showcase products and network with the top travel trade industry partners of Switzerland.
Six companies from the Maldives Tourism Industry have participated in this roadshow to create potential opportunities and to further strengthen the relationship with the Swiss tour operators. In addition to the networking session during the event, a raffle draw winner will be chosen from each city to spend holidays in the Maldives, with sponsorship from LUX* North Male Atoll, LUX* South Ari Atoll and You & Me by Cocoon.
The Maldives delegation in Geneva is led by Maldives Ambassador for Geneva, Hala Hameed. MMPRC has received excellent support from Maldives industry partners to the “Journey to the sunny side “series roadshow in 2019.
Based on the Arrival figures from January to June, Switzerland is ranked in the 11th position for highest performing markets to the Maldives accounting for 2.1% of total market share. Tourist arrivals were recorded to be 18,314 from Switzerland till June this year, an increase of 2.9% when compared to 2018. MMPRC plans to further boost the number of arrivals from the market with additional activities throughout the year.
