The annually celebrated World Oceans Day comes along every 8th June with numerous events and activities to be held around the world, bringing people together to celebrate and honor the ocean.
To support this global environment initiative, Kurumba Maldives hosted number of activities for guests and team members to participate. Complimentary Snorkeling Safari and Lagoon
Cleaning in conjunction with Clean-up dive activities were taken place with the participations of those who wished to take part in lagoon and house-reef clean-up activities. Inspired by the theme of this year’s event ‘preventing plastic pollution and encouraging solutions for a healthy ocean’, the clean-up activity aimed to raise
awareness about the danger of plastics to marine life.
Children were also encouraged to engage in this event and show their appreciation to the ocean in a fun Art Competition organized at the Kids Club. The celebration day marked by a Marine Life Presentation which helps ocean lovers to learn more about the inhabitants of the ocean- home to a diverse range of marine life.
