Maldivian Foreign Minister, Abdulla Shahid has express his desire to work more closely with China and to have a better China-Maldives relationship in 2020.
While responding to a tweet posted by Chinese Ambassador to Maldives Zhang Lizhong about the new eye center being set-up in Hulhumale under Chinese aid, Minister Shahid said the project is another positive development to the relationship between Maldives-China. He also express his desire to work more closely with china on mutually beneficial projects to both countries in 2020.
Currently, China is involved in several infrastructure-related projects such as the construction of the Sinamale’ Bridge connecting capital Male’ and reclaimed suburbs Hulhumale’ with the country’s main airport, and large-scale housing projects in the Maldives.
