- MACL advises passengers to arrive at VIA three hours before scheduled departure times.
- International travellers should complete immigration, ETA, and health declaration forms before arriving.
- Advisory comes ahead of the first academic term ending 16 July, boosting travel.
Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has advised passengers departing from Velana International Airport (VIA) to arrive at least three hours before their scheduled departure time to allow sufficient time for check-in and other departure procedures.
In an advisory issued on Wednesday, MACL urged international passengers to complete any required immigration, Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), or health declaration forms for their destination before arriving at the airport.
The company said completing these requirements in advance would help passengers avoid last-minute delays during the departure process, particularly during the current busy travel period.
MACL thanked passengers for their cooperation and understanding, while encouraging travellers to plan ahead to ensure a smoother departure experience.
The advisory comes ahead of the end of the first academic term on 16 July, a period that typically sees an increase in international travel as families and students begin travelling during the school break.
