Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has inaugurated its annual “Takeoff 2024” forum, a strategic initiative aimed at charting the course of the nation’s primary airport, Velana International Airport (VIA). The forum is designed to align departmental goals and foster collaborative efforts to achieve MACL’s ambitious vision for 2024.
The two-day event, held at Crossroads Maldives, was launched by MACL Managing Director and CEO Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed. MACL’s senior leadership, including deputy Managing Directors, Division Heads, Department Heads, and Section Heads, are participating in the forum.
In his address to attendees, Mr Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed stressed the importance of adaptability and foresight in the rapidly changing aviation industry. “Obsessively focusing on the short-term goals might cause us to lose our future. Companies fail due to a lack of foresight,” he stated.
MACL plans to reconvene the “Takeoff” forum later in 2024 to evaluate progress and refine strategies as needed. This bi-annual approach underscores the company’s commitment to proactive planning and continuous improvement in the management of Velana International Airport.
