MACL Successfully Concludes Leading Fireman Course

Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL) has completed the 13th batch of the Leading Firefighter Course. The five-week training program is targeted at creating skilled and qualified fire vehicle operators for the Airport Emergency Services Operation. 

The course was conducted in compliance with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, as well as the requirements of the Maldives Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA). The training was delivered by MCAA-certified instructors.

The course was completed by 19 firemen, 17 from MACL Airport Fire & Rescue Services and 2 from Kaadedhdhoo Airport. The course included both theoretical and practical sessions on how to operate fire vehicles competently for the Airport Emergency Services Operation. The role of the leading fireman, or fire vehicle operator is critical in reacting to the aircraft movement area and attending to any emergencies that may occur at the airport.

MACL is committed to offering specialized training and services to its customers and stakeholders. As a result, this course was held in collaboration with Kaadedhdhoo Airport. The company’s dedication to providing top-quality training will ensure that it maintains the highest standards of safety and security for airport operations.

Officiating the event, Mrs Guraisha Ismail, Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer stated: “This course will assist us with meeting the increasing need for trained and skilled fire vehicle operators within the Airport Emergency Services Operation.” She emphasized that all firemen shall adhere to the greatest standards of mutual respect, loyalty, and honesty in carrying out their professional tasks.

The Leading Fireman Course is an essential step in ensuring the safety and security of airport operations. MACL will continue to provide specialized training and services to meet the evolving demands of the aviation industry.
