Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim Arrives in Maldives on State Visit

The Maldives and Malaysia are set to discuss closer bilateral cooperation during Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s first visit to the country since assuming office in November 2022.
Prime Minister Anwar arrived in the Maldives on a State Visit at the invitation of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. He was received by President Muizzu at Velana International Airport.
An official welcome ceremony will be held in the Prime Minister’s honour, followed by official talks between the two leaders. The discussions will focus on strengthening relations between the Maldives and Malaysia.
President Muizzu and Prime Minister Anwar are also scheduled to witness the exchange of several Memoranda of Understanding. They will later deliver press statements outlining the outcomes of their discussions.
