Maldives 1,000 Rufiyaa Note nominated for the IBNS Banknote of the Year 2016 Award

Maldives 1,000 Rufiyaa Note from the Ran Dhihafaheh note series has been nominated for the International Bank Note Society (IBNS) Banknote of the Year 2016 Award. This note was nominated by IBNS life member Christof Zellweger. This Note Series was designed by Maldivian artist, Abdulla Nashaath who is the Creative Director of Maldives Getaways Pvt Ltd.

mdv-1000-backThe IBNS Banknote of the Year award is an initiative of the IBNS to recognize an exceptional banknote issued each year. Once nominations have closed, the winner will be decided by a vote of the IBNS, who will consider the artistic merit, design, use of colour, contrast, balance, and security features of each nomination.  The winner will be announced at the the first IBNS Board meeting of the year.

The International Bank Note Society (IBNS) was founded in 1961. It operates as a non-profit educational organization and in furtherance of such purpose, its objectives are to promote, stimulate, and advance the study and knowledge of worldwide banknotes and paper currencies and all matters related thereto along educational, scientific and historical lines. Currently the IBNS has over 2,000 members in more than 90 countries.
