A delegation from Saudi Arabia paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu at the President’s Office on Sunday morning, as both countries reiterated their commitment to maintaining close bilateral relations.
The delegation was accompanied by Saudi Ambassador to the Maldives Yahya Hassan Al-Qahtani. Cabinet Ministers and senior officials of the President’s Office were also present during the meeting.
During the call, President Muizzu expressed appreciation to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for Saudi Arabia’s continued cooperation and support for the Maldives’ socioeconomic development.
The visiting delegation thanked the President and the Government of the Maldives for the welcome and hospitality extended during the visit.
Both sides concluded the meeting by reaffirming their shared interest in further strengthening the longstanding close relations between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia.
