Foreign Minister Wraps Up UAE Visit, Advancing Key Partnerships

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, has concluded an official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), held at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE. The visit marks another milestone in the longstanding relationship between the two nations.

During his stay, Minister Dr. Khaleel engaged in high-level discussions with His Highness Sheikh Abdullah, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring new avenues for cooperation. The talks highlighted shared ambitions to advance mutual interests across a range of areas, underscoring the strong bond between the Maldives and the UAE.

Beyond the diplomatic discussions, Minister Dr. Khaleel also held meetings with senior UAE government officials, identifying opportunities in key sectors such as tourism, fisheries, renewable energy, connectivity, and infrastructure development. In a bid to attract investment, Dr. Khaleel also engaged with UAE-based investors, emphasising the Maldives’ openness to strengthening business ties with the UAE. His efforts aim to further integrate the Maldives into regional and global economic networks.
