
The newly appointed Non-Resident High Commissioner, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Maldives to the Republic of Seychelles, His Excellency Masood Imad, presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency Dr. Patrick Herminie, President of the Republic of Seychelles, at a ceremony held this morning at the State House in Victoria.
Following the ceremony, High Commissioner Imad conveyed warm greetings and felicitations from His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and the people of the Maldives to President Dr. Herminie, as well as to the Government and people of Seychelles. He expressed appreciation for the honour accorded to him and reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the Government of Seychelles to further strengthen bilateral relations.
High Commissioner Imad highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, fisheries and tourism, noting the shared priorities of the two Indian Ocean nations. He also underscored his intention to deepen engagement during his tenure as Non-Resident High Commissioner.
President Herminie reaffirmed the Government of Seychelles’ commitment to strengthening the longstanding and cordial relations between the two countries and expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation would continue to grow during High Commissioner Imad’s tenure.
Following the credentials ceremony, High Commissioner Imad paid courtesy calls on the Vice President of the Republic of Seychelles, His Excellency Sebastien Pillay.
High Commissioner Masood Imad currently serves as the High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and will concurrently serve as Non-Resident High Commissioner to Seychelles, with residence in Colombo.
