Maldives Promotes Position as Top Destination for Indian Travellers

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) is showcasing the nation’s diverse tourism offerings at the Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) in Mumbai, India. This premium travel trade event is being held at the Jio World Convention Centre from the 8th to the 10th of February. The MMPRC, alongside 50 industry representatives from 33 companies, aims to solidify the Maldives’ position as a top holiday destination for Indian travellers.

OTM provides a platform for the MMPRC and its partners to connect with key figures in the Indian travel industry and strengthen business relationships. MMPRC will highlight the latest destination updates, unique tourism products, and experiences offered by the Maldives. Industry partners will promote their individual properties and distinctive offerings. The Maldives stand at OTM 2024 offers visitors a range of activities, including meetings with travel trade professionals, media interviews, and a chance to sample traditional Maldivian cuisine.

India was the leading source market for the Maldives in 2023, contributing 14.4% of total arrivals. Throughout 2024, MMPRC plans to conduct targeted promotional activities in India, including digital campaigns, participation in major events, media outreach, and familiarisation trips to maintain destination momentum and further solidify the Maldives as the top vacation choice for Indian travellers.
