Maldives has won 3 significant awards at the World Travel Awards 2018.
The destination won Indian Ocean’s Leading Beach Destination, Indian Ocean’s Leading Dive Destination and Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination at the World Travel Awards: Africa and Indian Ocean. The award ceremony was held at the Dubran International Convention Centre, South Africa. Maldives secured the awards after competing with top destinations at Africa and the Indian Ocean such as Seychelles and Mauritius.
The Travel Awards brought together leading figures and VIPs from across African and the Indian Ocean.
The evening also forms part of the silver jubilee World Travel Awards Grand Tour 2018, the World Travel Awards’ 25th anniversary of honouring excellence in the international hospitality industry. At the red carpet event, the formal announcement of victory and stage presentation of World Travel Award took place along with filmed media interviews.
