Maldives Starts Vaccination for Resort Frontline Staff

Ministry of Tourism and Health Protection Agency have begun COVID-19 vaccination in resorts.

The program was first carried out in Bandos Island Resort and will be carried out in other resorts within this week. Tourism Ministry’s Senior Executive Director Ali Razzan, in a tweet, has stated that the program is continuing successfully and over 100 resort staff will be vaccinated under this program.

According to Razzan, training of medical officers and center setups will also be arranged simultaneously to provide vaccination permits to more resorts. Resort staff can also travel to nearby resorts with permits to get vaccinated.

Latest statistics from Tourism Ministry show that 562 individuals from tourism industry have been vaccinated from which 35 are resort employees.
