Maldives and Singapore signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) – one on Transport Cooperation, and another on Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation on 15 March 2022.
The MOUs were jointly signed in Singapore by Ms Aishath Nahula, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Maldives, and Mr S Iswaran, Minister for Transport and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, Singapore.
Under the MOUs, Maldives and Singapore will strengthen cooperation in the area of transport, including aviation-related training, maritime technical assistance, road and traffic management, and aircraft accident and incident investigation.
Ms Aishath Nahula, the Maldives Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation said “The signing of the Memorandums of Understanding is a demonstration of our commitment towards greater collaboration between Maldives and Singapore. This will spur a further exchange of ideas and best practices in the area of transport.”

As fellow small island states, the signing of the Memorandums of Understanding will enable our two countries to deepen our excellent transport relations and cooperation,” said Mr S Iswaran, Minister for Transport and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, Singapore.
