Maldives targets to bring 1 Million tourists each year in the next five years.
Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid said that in his official visit to China, both countries have talked about strengthening the relations between both countries. And have discussed making China one of the countries from most of the tourists visit the Maldives.
Shahid stated that their target is by 2023 over 1 Million tourists to visit the Maldives.
He also stated that they have discussed increasing the number of flights from China to Maldives. As for now, approximately half a million tourists visit the Maldives for their vacations.
