The Maldives Marketing & PR Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) is making a significant impact at the ongoing ITB Berlin 2024 travel trade fair. A large Maldivian delegation of 214 representatives from 107 tourism companies is currently in Germany, collaborating with the Minister of Tourism, Ministry of Tourism officials, tourism stakeholders and government tourism bodies to strengthen the Maldives’ position in the global tourism market.
The Maldives stand at ITB Berlin 2024 is a vibrant 504 sqm double-decker space showcasing the diverse experiences available in the island nation. Visitors are learning about Maldivian culture, heritage, and the numerous tourism offerings. The stand features co-exhibitor counters, meeting tables, LED screens, cultural displays, gastronomic experiences, and immersive 360-degree camera experiences.
On 5 March, a Maldives Media Meet connected MMPRC with key German and international media representatives, providing updates on the destination and highlighting sustainability initiatives.
Germany is a core market for the Maldives, currently ranking 5th for visitor arrivals in 2024. Visit Maldives has a dedicated marketing strategy for Germany, including social media outreach, joint ventures with tour operators, familiarisation trips and targeted advertising.
ITB Berlin is proving to be a significant platform for the Maldives to reach potential visitors, industry partners, and media. The fair allows for showcasing the country’s beauty, diverse offerings, and commitment to sustainable tourism on a global stage.
