The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO), in collaboration with Hotel Jen Malé (JEN Maldives Malé by Shangri-La), has announced the inaugural Maldives Travel Conference 2024 – Women’s Edition, scheduled to take place on 19 August at Hotel Jen Malé. This event is dedicated exclusively to celebrating and highlighting the vital roles of women in the tourism sector.
MATATO has received significant endorsements from the Ministry of Tourism (MOT), marking a crucial collaboration aimed at empowering women within the industry. MATATO representatives recently met with Ms. Aishath Shimani, Deputy Minister, and Dr. Abdulla Niyaz, Minister of State, to discuss and explore avenues of partnership to advance women’s participation and leadership in tourism.
In addition to the Ministry’s support, the conference has garnered endorsements from several prominent women’s associations, including Women in Management (WIM), Women on Boards (WOB), and the Women Entrepreneurs Association – Maldives (WEAM). These endorsements reflect the widespread recognition of the importance of this event in addressing the unique challenges and opportunities faced by women in tourism.
The Maldives Travel Conference 2024 – Women’s Edition will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and trailblazing women from across the tourism sector. The conference will feature inspiring talks, panel discussions, and networking opportunities aimed at fostering a more inclusive and diverse industry.
