Maldivian Announces Seasonal Bangkok Flights for School Holidays

Maldivian has announced a limited series of seasonal flights to Bangkok, offering Maldivian travellers a direct holiday option during the upcoming school break.

The national airline will operate the special Bangkok flights every Sunday from 12 July to 2 August. Four flights are scheduled during the period, on 12 July, 19 July, 26 July, and 2 August, targeting families and leisure travellers planning mid-year holidays abroad.

Flights from Malé are scheduled to depart at 11:00 hrs, while return flights from Bangkok will operate at 18:40 hrs. The timing is aimed at providing a convenient travel window for passengers heading to Thailand for short holidays, shopping, medical visits, or family travel.

Each passenger will receive a baggage allowance of 25 kg, providing added convenience for travellers during the holiday period. Maldivian said the seasonal operation is intended to meet increased travel demand while making international leisure travel more accessible through special fares.

Bangkok remains one of the most popular destinations for Maldivian travellers, supported by its combination of shopping, family attractions, dining, healthcare services, and relatively short travel distance from the Maldives. The additional flights are expected to support early holiday planning at a time when demand for outbound travel typically rises.

Alongside the Bangkok services, Maldivian continues to operate weekly international flights to Beijing and Chengdu in China, as part of its wider efforts to expand connectivity for passengers.

The seasonal Bangkok flights reflect the airline’s focus on responding to passenger demand during peak travel periods, while offering travellers more options for regional holiday travel.
