Maldivian companies have been invited to explore export, partnership and market-entry opportunities at Halal Indo Expo 2026, which will bring together businesses operating across Indonesia’s expanding halal economy.
The Ministry of Economic Development, Transport and Trade has opened participation for Maldivian companies and industry stakeholders interested in attending the event, scheduled to take place in Tangerang, Indonesia, from 24 to 27 September.
Halal Indo Expo has been held in Indonesia since 2018 as part of efforts to develop the country into an international centre for halal products and services. The event connects producers, investors, buyers and industry professionals while providing businesses with access to overseas markets.
The exhibition will cover halal food manufacturing and product development, modest fashion and lifestyle products, halal-certified cosmetics and beauty products, Islamic banking and financial services, and halal tourism.
Participating companies will be able to present products and services that comply with Islamic principles. The programme will also include business-matching sessions, consultations and industry engagement activities intended to support commercial discussions and professional networking.
Businesses interested in participating are required to submit an online application through the expo’s official website. Applicants have also been asked to share their submission details with the Ministry through international@trade.gov.mv.
The previous edition, held in Jakarta from 25 to 28 September 2025, featured 346 exhibitors from 11 countries. Participating markets included Malaysia, Thailand, China, Libya, Singapore and the United States.
