Maldivian, the national carrier of the Maldives, is set to enhance its fleet by acquiring two new ATR42-600 aircraft. The airline has successfully finalised a Sale and Purchase Contract with ATR.
This announcement reflects Maldivian’s commitment to modernising and improving its operational capabilities. The new ATR42-600 aircraft will replace the aging Dash-8 aircraft currently in the airline’s fleet.
Maldivian has already introduced three ATR aircraft, which have proven to be reliable and efficient replacements for older models. The first ATR42-600 is expected to arrive at the end of 2023, followed by the second in early 2025, aligning with the airline’s strategy to offer passengers a safe, comfortable, and modern travel experience.
